The prophets like #Amos, #Isiah, #Jeremiah and many others called out to the people, telling them about their sins and their need to turn back to their God, #Yahwe. But the people would not listen. They kept on doing wicket things, convincing themselves God is patient, forgiving and will not hold their sins against them. They kept on doing bad things, following their lusts, murdering, oppressing and living immoral lifestyles, never heading the prophets’s warnings of coming disasters. On the contrary. They arrested the prophets, torturing them and killed them. Today they would have been accused of #politically incorrectness and #hate-speech.
In the days of the prophets, when the prophesied disasters struck, the people repented and turned back to God. For a time they obeyed and shun their filthy idols, serving #Yahwe only. As soon as God has helped them and made the disasters go away, they turned away again to their immorality and idolatry.
Where are the prophets that are supposed to warn the people now? Do they really preach the Word of #Yahwe? Do they really tell people to turn away from their sins and serve God only? Or do they tell people what they want to hear? Like how much God loves them, how God is patient and forgiving and will not punish them for their sins, because #Yeshua already paid the fine for their transgressions? Which of course is true. HE did pay our fines, with His blood. Does this give us license to keep on sinning? NO, a thousand times NO. It is all the more reason to STOP sinning and follow the leadership of the Perfect One who never sinned.
HE tells us to be perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect. Perfection should be our goal: To live a clean and perfect life before the Lord. #Psalm 119. How else will He find his bride pure and holy when He comes back to collect her to be with Him? Let us stop immorality, selfish, self-service, idolatry, playing for the goddess of fate and luck. Let us turn back to our God who can save us from world wide disasters and He will take care of us when we can not, when everything cave in around us. Let us serve the One and only God who can protect us according to #Psalm 91. Let us serve Him with all that is in us and He will save us. PRAISE HIS NAME! THE NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES!
